INTERVIEW:
How did your passion for cars begin?
My passion for cars started with this E30.
My father bought it in 2004, and I grew up with it. It was always around, but as a child I never had a particular interest in cars.
Everything changed after I got my driver’s license. The E30 had its first mechanical issue, and instead of taking it straight to a garage, I decided to try fixing it myself. By reading forums, watching videos, and learning through trial and error, I realized that you don’t have to be a mechanic to work on your own car.
I’ve always enjoyed building and creating things with my hands, so being able to repair something myself and then drive it afterwards was incredibly rewarding. That feeling is what turned a family car into a lifelong passion.
Today, that same passion is what inspired the creation of Expo Auto: bringing together people from every corner of the automotive world to share their stories, their projects, and the cars that mean something to them.

INTERVIEW:
How did your passion for cars begin?
My passion for cars and tuning started at a very young age thanks to my father, Thierry Dormoy @thierrydormoy . As far back as I can remember, cars have always been part of my life. I grew up surrounded by them, and over the years that naturally turned into a real passion.
Today, I’m a certified auto body technician, which allows me to live that passion every day. My profession has also given me a different perspective on cars, not only for their design but also for the history behind them.
I own a Mazda MX-5 NBFL, but the car that means the most to me is my Mercedes S203. It belonged to my grandfather, and it’s a car I dreamed of owning ever since I was a child. There’s nothing particularly extravagant about it, apart from a few beautiful factory options, but that’s exactly what makes it so special. I believe its design has aged incredibly well.
To stay true to its character, I’ve fitted it with coilovers and a rare set of Brabus Monoblock II wheels. For me, those modifications perfectly respect the car’s history while enhancing its personality.
What I enjoy most about car culture is what I like to call cultural tuning: searching for rare, authentic parts with real history—parts developed by manufacturers or their official tuning divisions. It’s that attention to detail that gives a project its soul.
More than anything, this passion has introduced me to incredible people, unforgettable experiences, and projects that truly reflect who I am.

How did your passion for cars begin?
I’ve loved cars for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I probably watched Cars hundreds of times, and my biggest dream was to own a “Subaru with the stars” (You got it a 22B)
Today I have the privilege of co-driving a historic Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV Ralliart in rally competitions, something my younger self could never have imagined.
I’ve owned this GT86 for the past three years. It’s an incredibly fun car to drive and an even more rewarding one to modify… at least when it isn’t broken! Thankfully, I have a that friend who’s always happy to lend a hand whenever another project comes up. You can trust almost everyone but me when it comes to using my hands haha!
This passion eventually led me to co-found LVX Custom with Joseph, Helio joined, and later I met Sasha and Sam during my studies. Those friendships naturally evolved into the creation of ExpoAuto. We wanted to build the kind of event we always wished existed: one focused on passionate people, unique builds, and real automotive stories, rather than rows of identical, overdone cars on reps. At ExpoAuto, our goal is simple: every visitor should discover something they’ve never seen before.

How did your passion for cars begin?
My passion for cars really started when I realized I could build, modify, and fix things myself.
I’ve always been the kind of person who needs to understand how things work. What started with basic maintenance and a few small mods quickly became much more.
My MX-5 is probably the best example of that. It started as a completely stock little roadster and slowly turned into a full project: suspension, chassis, interior, electronics, and eventually a turbo build making around 260 horsepower.
I really live by the “built, not bought” mindset. Most of it came from learning as I went, spending way too many evenings in the garage, making mistakes, fixing problems, and occasionally creating new ones.
What I love most about cars is that there’s always something new to learn. Mechanics, fabrication, 3D printing, electronics, design… even if that means reading hundreds of old forum posts to find one guy who had the exact same problem.
That same mindset led Evan and me to create LVX Custom, and later Expo Auto.
For me, car culture isn’t about having the most expensive car or following trends. It’s about the story behind the build, the work that went into it, and the person behind the wheel.
And yeah… I’m “that friend.”
